The Company is in search of an Associate Vice President for Underwriting and Strategic Pricing. The successful candidate will be responsible for the underwriting of group prospects and renewals, ensuring the application of underwriting principles and strategic pricing practices to foster profitable membership growth. This leadership role demands a strategic and influential individual who can set performance standards, oversee underwriting systems and technology, and provide guidance for stop-loss and national business. The AVP will also be a key member of the leadership team, shaping underwriting and pricing strategy to maintain competitiveness in the market and deliver value to customers and the community. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of health insurance underwriting experience, or 12 years of related experience in lieu of a degree. The role requires a leader with a strong background in underwriting, strategic pricing, actuarial partnership, or commercial insurance operations, and a proven track record of influencing senior leaders and driving business decisions. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication, relationship-building, and executive presence, and a deep understanding of healthcare financing, risk management, and employer-sponsored health plans. A progressive leadership background, experience in large group and commercial employer markets, and certifications in Six Sigma, Lean, or process improvement are considered a bonus.
