About the Role
Greater Elmhurst, NY Area (Hybrid)
The Company is in search of dedicated professionals and community leaders to join its Board of Directors as founding members. The Board will play a crucial role in the strategic direction, financial and organizational oversight, governance, and fundraising support of the organization. The ideal candidates will have backgrounds in areas such as banking, finance, accounting, child welfare, youth services, behavioral health, law, compliance, risk management, education, and nonprofit governance. While previous nonprofit board experience is beneficial, it is not a requirement. What is essential is a strong belief in the mission of the organization and a willingness to actively contribute knowledge, experience, and connections to support the development and expansion of services. The successful Board members will be instrumental in the launch and growth of the transitional living program, which is designed to provide safe, structured, and supportive housing for youth and young adults aged 16-21. The program focuses on helping these individuals develop the skills necessary for successful independent living, including education and employment readiness, financial literacy, and connections to community resources. The Board will be responsible for ensuring that the organization remains true to its mission of empowering young people to become self-sufficient adults, and for providing the professional expertise and community connections needed to achieve this goal.
