Chief, Quality & Patient Safety Officer

The Company is seeking a Chief, Quality & Patient Safety Officer to shape and advance quality, patient safety, regulatory readiness, and continuous improvement across a complex academic medical center. The Chief will set and execute quality and safety strategy, translating performance data, safety risks, regulatory requirements, and external benchmarks into sustained improvements. Responsibilities include executive oversight of patient safety and clinical risk, infection prevention and control, accreditation, performance improvement, management engineering, and benchmarking. The role requires partnering with physicians, nurses, operational leaders, and frontline teams to strengthen accountability and embed quality and safety into daily operations. Candidates must have at least 10 years of progressively responsible healthcare leadership experience, including significant work in quality, patient safety, performance improvement, accreditation, regulatory readiness, or clinical operations. They should demonstrate knowledge of accreditation and regulatory standards, high-reliability principles, improvement methods, quality measurement, and benchmarking, along with experience leading teams through surveys and maintaining continuous readiness. Strong executive communication, collaboration, change leadership, and the ability to present complex information to clinical and governance audiences are essential. An MD or DO from an accredited institution is required; an active or eligible medical license and specialty board certification are preferred, as are relevant quality or safety certifications and involvement in academic medicine.
