Head of Cards & Payments

The Company is seeking a Head of Cards and Payments to take on a senior leadership role with full ownership of the cards and payments domain. This includes credit and debit cards, consumer and merchant QR, and instant-payment rails across retail and merchant & business banking segments. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the cards and payments strategy, P&L, and representing the domain at the executive level with various internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include product strategy and proposition development, product design, development, and implementation, portfolio management, and performance optimization. The role also involves governance, risk, and compliance, as well as cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a Master’s degree preferred, and at least 10 years of experience in cards, payments, or digital banking, including a minimum of 2 years in a senior role with P&L responsibility. The role requires a proven track record in building and scaling cards and payments portfolios, as well as experience in negotiating and managing relationships with card schemes, third-party processors, and instant-payment infrastructure. The Head of Cards and Payments will be expected to lead a cross-functional team, ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, and drive initiatives for portfolio growth and optimization. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the financial services industry are essential for this position.
