Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Greater Kitchener, Canada Area

The Company is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to provide technical leadership across a portfolio of businesses, combining strategic direction with hands-on engineering support. Responsibilities include assessing architectures and codebases, resolving complex technical challenges, establishing shared engineering standards, and advancing the use of AI-assisted development. The CTO will guide product planning, technical investments, security, scalability, and operational resilience, while helping leaders understand technical risks and opportunities. The role also involves recruiting and mentoring engineering talent, strengthening collaboration across teams, and translating business ideas into practical, measurable technical plans. Candidates should bring deep, hands-on experience in software engineering, systems architecture, and building scalable production applications, along with recent practical experience using AI technologies, large language models, and agentic development tools. They should have experience evaluating and improving software architecture, shipping products in fast-moving environments, and making sound product and business decisions. Strong communication, technical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to mentor teams and challenge assumptions are essential. Previous senior technical leadership, experience across multiple products or businesses, and experience building engineering functions or supporting technical due diligence are preferred.
