The Company is in search of a Trustee and Chair for its Finance, Audit, and Risk Committee. The successful candidate will be a key figure in providing financial leadership and oversight, ensuring the organization maintains strong financial governance, effective risk management, and robust systems of assurance and accountability. This role involves working closely with the Board of Trustees, the CEO, and external auditors to scrutinize the financial performance, budgets, reserves, cash flow, and annual accounts. The Chair will also be responsible for advising on the financial implications of strategic plans, investments, and future development, and for ensuring that the charity's financial controls and processes are operating effectively. Applicants for this voluntary position should be experienced financial leaders with a professional accountancy qualification, significant financial and commercial expertise, and a strong understanding of governance and trustee responsibilities. The role requires a candidate with previous Board-level, Trustee, or senior leadership experience, particularly in financial oversight, and a proven track record of chairing committees or senior decision-making forums. A strategic thinker with sound judgment, independence, and integrity, the ideal candidate will have a collaborative and inclusive leadership style, and a genuine commitment to the mission and values of the organization. Knowledge of charity accounting and SORP is desirable, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly is essential.
