Fractional Head of Metallurgy & Processing

The Company is seeking a Head of Metallurgy and Processing to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall performance of the metallurgical and processing operations, with a focus on throughput, recovery efficiency, diamond security, and cost per tonne. This role is pivotal in a technically demanding plant environment, where metallurgical accounting, process control, and plant stability are essential. The Head of Metallurgy and Processing will have the opportunity to influence recovery outcomes, lead optimization activities, and enhance in-country metallurgical capability in a high-value mineral processing setting. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in metallurgical, chemical, or mineral-processing engineering, with a minimum of 15 years' experience in mineral processing, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in diamond processing, particularly with DMS and X-ray/XRT recovery, is a key requirement. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in improving recovery efficiency and reducing costs, as well as experience in commissioning or stabilizing new plants and optimizing mature high-tonnage plants. Strong technical knowledge in diamond liberation and recovery technology, metallurgical accounting, process control, and plant performance economics is essential. The role also demands a leader with the ability to develop technical teams, and build structured operating routines, and who is fluent in English, with a preference for those with professional registration and a post-graduate qualification in mineral processing or extractive metallurgy.
