Associate Vice President, Leveraged Finance Research

The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President in Leveraged Finance Research to assess investment opportunities in leveraged loans and private corporate credit across the UK and Europe. Responsibilities include underwriting primary and secondary investments, building financial models, reviewing credit documentation, and preparing clear investment recommendations. The role also involves monitoring portfolio exposures, identifying emerging credit risks, conducting sector and thematic research, and incorporating ESG considerations into analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with investment colleagues and external stakeholders, while mentoring junior analysts and improving research tools and processes. Candidates should have 9–12 years of relevant experience in leveraged finance, credit research, private credit, underwriting, investment banking, or a related field, with a demonstrated record of analysing complex credits and influencing investment or risk decisions. Deep knowledge of corporate credit, capital structures, financial statements, modelling, and credit agreements is required, along with strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills. Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Bloomberg or comparable credit research platforms are expected; Python, VBA, and Power BI are desirable. An MBA, CA, or equivalent postgraduate or professional qualification is required, while CFA or FRM credentials are advantageous.
