Physical Climate Risk Model Developer, Vice President

Greater Mumbai, India Area (Hybrid)
The Company is seeking a Physical Climate Risk Model Developer to join its Climate Risk Analytics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing quantitative models that assess the impact of physical climate and nature-related risks across the company's portfolios and operations. This includes evaluating hazard, exposure, vulnerability, and financial/credit impacts across various sectors and geographies. The role requires a strong background in climate and catastrophe modeling, as well as expertise in geospatial analytics and data science to support risk identification, scenario analysis, and stress testing. The candidate will also be expected to integrate external climate and hazard datasets with internal risk and portfolio data, and to partner with both external vendors and internal teams on climate risk assessment features. Applicants for this role at the company should have 6-10+ years' of relevant experience in quantitative modeling, data science, climate risk, or environmental risk analytics, and hold an advanced degree in a quantitative discipline. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of climate and CAT modeling methodologies, as well as experience in statistical modeling, Bayesian inference, spatial statistics, and machine learning. Proficiency in programming, data modeling, and data management, particularly in Python, SQL, and Unix/Linux environments, is essential. The role also demands strong technical documentation skills, excellent communication, and the ability to present complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
