The Company is seeking a Director or Vice President of Development with a focus on light industrial properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development department, from opportunity sourcing to financial analysis, planning, entitlements, and the overall management of the development and construction process. This role requires a hands-on approach, including support for land acquisitions, executing ground-up projects, and providing construction oversight for value-add strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate development, particularly in shallow bay/light industrial, and will be adept at managing both internal and external teams to ensure the successful execution of business plans. Key responsibilities for the Director/VP of Development include managing the pre-development process, leading the entitlements process, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the expected quality. The role also involves negotiating and structuring deals with various stakeholders, coordinating with internal teams for financing, and maintaining relationships with industry partners. The position is well-suited to an entrepreneurial individual who is ready to take ownership of the development department within an established owner/operator and who can effectively collaborate with the investment team to underwrite new opportunities. The candidate should be prepared to lead a team, set work responsibilities, and assess performance, as well as to prepare and monitor project budgets and reports for the executive committee.
