Vice President, Global Head of AI for Drug Discovery (AIDD) Greater San Francisco, CA Area

The Company is seeking a Vice President and Global Head of AI for Drug Discovery to lead its artificial intelligence and machine learning organization. The role will define and execute the AI strategy, build and deploy computational methods for therapeutic design, and integrate these capabilities into discovery programs. Responsibilities include leading a global, multidisciplinary team; setting priorities for research, infrastructure, and resources; and developing strategic partnerships across research teams and the external AI community. The leader will also advance foundation models, generative AI, predictive modeling, and automated workflows to support molecular design and optimization. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, computational chemistry, machine learning, computational biology, or a related quantitative field. They should bring familiarity with drug discovery and expertise in modern AI, deep learning, and generative models, ideally including molecular modeling and computational drug discovery. Required experience includes advancing AI infrastructure and leading large-scale engineering or foundation-model efforts, or building research groups recognized in the AI community. Candidates must also demonstrate success leading large, multidisciplinary, multi-site organizations, including budget ownership and organizational design, alongside strong communication, collaboration, and talent-development skills.
