Deputy General Counsel Greater Tucson, AZ Area

The Company is seeking a Deputy General Counsel to provide high-level legal support and advice on a wide range of matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Executive Vice President/General Counsel in delivering comprehensive legal services to the management and Board of Directors. This includes coaching and guiding the development of direct reports, attending meetings to provide legal advice, and making recommendations on corporate governance and compliance. The role also involves reviewing, preparing, negotiating, and drafting various legal documents, as well as being responsive to airport emergencies and supporting public safety and operational responses. Applicants must have a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school, be an active member in good standing of the Arizona State Bar, and have at least eight years of experience in a broad range of legal areas, preferably for a public entity. The position requires in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations, particularly those related to public airports and FAA. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in legal analysis, communication, negotiation, and the ability to manage multiple, competing legal issues. A self-directed and proactive approach is essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
