Vice President, Data Governance Operationalisation Remote (anywhere in Malaysia)

The Company is seeking a Vice President for Data Governance Operationalization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing data governance workstreams, from planning to delivery, within an assigned country or branch. This includes developing and maintaining project plans, running workshops with various stakeholders to gather and validate information, and identifying key data uses and elements. The role also involves capturing business and technical metadata, analyzing data lineage, defining data quality requirements, and preparing metadata and lineage artifacts for onboarding into data governance tools. The VP will be expected to track delivery, resolve information gaps, and produce clear status updates, as well as support the data governance council and steering committee. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in data management, computer science, or a related field, with certifications in data governance tools being highly desirable. A minimum of 5-10 years' experience in data governance, data management, data quality, regulatory reporting, data analysis, or business analysis, preferably within the banking sector, is required. The role demands strong stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, Excel, PowerPoint, and SQL skills, as well as the ability to interpret reporting logic and manage workstreams independently. Experience with data governance tools and knowledge of BCBS 239 and regulatory reporting are advantageous. The VP will also be involved in creating data awareness training for APAC stakeholders and must be prepared to take on additional duties as assigned.
