Interim Head of Market Risk Remote (anywhere in Malta)

The Company is seeking a Head of Market Risk to establish and lead the market-risk function. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive risk framework that encompasses various risk factors, including exposure, liquidity, concentration, volatility, settlement, and counterparties. This role involves setting risk appetite, limits, triggers, and escalation protocols for markets, participants, and liquidity providers, as well as designing stress tests for a range of market scenarios. The Head of Market Risk will also be involved in the review of new market categories, contract structures, and liquidity programs, and will lead incident response for any risk-related issues. Applicants for the Head of Market Risk position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in market risk, trading risk, exchange risk, clearing, or quantitative risk. A deep understanding of electronic trading, liquidity, exposure measurement, limit systems, and stress testing is essential. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in building or enhancing risk frameworks, models, and management reporting, as well as strong quantitative judgment and the ability to communicate effectively across functions. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate calm leadership during high-pressure events and be ready to take on the challenge of creating trusted infrastructure in a rapidly evolving market.
