Associate Vice President for the Honors College & Interdisciplinary Programs
About the Role
Remote (anywhere in Maryland)
The Company is in search of an Associate Vice President for the Honors College and Interdisciplinary Programs. The successful candidate will provide executive leadership, strategic vision, and operational oversight for the Honors College and Collegewide Institutes, with a focus on advancing interdisciplinary academic programming and experiential learning. This role is pivotal in expanding equitable access to high-impact educational experiences, including undergraduate research, global learning, and workforce-aligned opportunities. The AVP will be responsible for maintaining engagement with emerging trends in honors education and interdisciplinary learning, as well as leading the development of regional, national, and international academic partnerships. Collaboration with various academic and student services divisions is essential to ensure that the programming supports student success, persistence, and completion. Applicants for the Associate Vice President position must have a Master’s degree in a relevant field, with a preference for a doctorate or terminal degree, and at least 7-10 years of leadership experience in higher education. A strong background in honors education, interdisciplinary programming, and experiential learning is required, along with a demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusivity, and belonging. The role involves maintaining operational oversight, managing budgets, and supervising staff, so experience in these areas is also necessary. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing partnerships with external organizations and a deep understanding of the academic needs of diverse student populations. The position demands a leader who can make data-informed decisions, ensure program effectiveness, and align initiatives with institutional goals and accreditation expectations.
