The Company is in search of a Managing Director of Development to spearhead the strategic growth of major philanthropic fundraising. The successful candidate will be tasked with providing leadership and direction for a comprehensive major gifts program, with a focus on gifts of $10,000 and above. This role involves working closely with the Development team, volunteers, and other stakeholders to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts. The Managing Director will also be responsible for activating the team of Development Officers, expanding the donor pipeline, and ensuring the successful delivery of fundraising initiatives. Collaboration with internal and external partners, as well as the maintenance of a personal portfolio of high-net-worth prospects, is essential. Applicants for the Managing Director of Development position at the company should have a strong passion for the organization's mission, a B.A. or B.S. degree, and a minimum of 6 years' of nonprofit fundraising experience, with at least 4 years' in major gift fundraising leadership. The role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in leadership, fundraising, and business development. Experience in comprehensive fundraising campaigns, as well as knowledge of current trends in charitable giving, is highly valued. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in major gift solicitation, grant writing, and planned giving, and be proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software. Superior communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills are a must, along with the ability to lead and coach a team effectively.
