Trustees play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the Foundation, ensuring that its charitable aims are met, and that its work has a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people. The ideal candidates will have a strong interest in the role of research and assessment in education, and the key qualities sought include the ability to operate at a strategic level, offer valuable business insights, provide constructive challenge, and contribute to creative and innovative thinking. Applicants for the Trustee positions at the company should be prepared to engage with the Board, including the Chair, other Trustees, the Chief Executive, and the staff, all of whom are deeply committed to the organization's goals. The Foundation is particularly interested in individuals with recent experience and expertise in finance (especially qualified accountants), commercial, and communications/PR. Additionally, those with a research background or international experience are encouraged to apply. Trustees are expected to attend Board meetings four times a year, participate in a strategy day, and contribute to a Board Committee or working group. While there is no fee for the position, travel and other expenses are reimbursed.
