Associate Vice President, Underwriting, National Partners

The Company is seeking an AVP, Underwriting for National Partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the underwriting strategy, execution, and relationship management with national agency and broker partners. This role is pivotal in ensuring underwriting profitability, driving growth through strategic distribution partnerships, and aligning underwriting practices with corporate objectives. The AVP will also serve as a key liaison between underwriting, sales, and service teams, and will be expected to monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging risks to inform underwriting decisions and partner strategies. Applicants must have a deep understanding of commercial P&C underwriting principles, particularly in large and national accounts, and a proven ability to manage underwriting teams to drive profitable growth. Strong relationship management and negotiation skills with national brokers and aggregators are essential, as is the ability to think strategically and align underwriting practices with broader business goals. The role requires proficiency in data analysis, pricing strategies, and risk assessment, as well as excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills. A Bachelor's degree is required, with an advanced degree or CPCU designation preferred, and a minimum of 7-10 years of commercial underwriting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
