Chief People Officer (CPO)
About the Role
Remote (anywhere in United States)
The Company is seeking a Chief People Officer (CPO) to play a pivotal role in the organization's mission to ensure that the benefits of artificial intelligence reach the most vulnerable populations. The CPO will be responsible for designing and executing the people strategy, with a strong focus on building and scaling a high-performing, globally distributed team. This includes creating AI-native people systems and processes, leading the talent and HR function, and supporting regional and country HR teams. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in full-cycle recruiting, experience in LMIC contexts, and the ability to design and maintain a culture of high performance and accountability. The role demands a builder with strong analytical instincts, a deep understanding of AI tools, and the ability to navigate the complexities of a fast-growing organization. Candidates for the CPO position at the company should have at least 12 years' experience in HR, people operations, or talent roles, with a significant background in building people systems from the ground up. The role requires a leader who is comfortable with ambiguity, can manage multiple deadlines, and is adept at fast iteration. Experience in standing up employment infrastructure for a new or spinning-out entity is a strong plus. The CPO will be expected to be a strategic thought partner, pushing back when necessary, and handling sensitive employee situations with discretion.
