Vice President, Global Library Relations

Remote (anywhere in United States)
The Company is in search of a Vice President, Global Library Relations to serve as a senior, globally minded leader and a credible ambassador to the scientific, technical, and medical library and information community. This role is pivotal in championing libraries as essential partners in the mission to distinguish insight from noise and evidence from assertion, particularly in the context of the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and leading a global library relations program that focuses on shaping the scholarly communication conversation, strengthening the ecosystem through collaboration with key library organizations, and building institutional partnerships with university libraries. The role demands a strategic, systems-level thinker with a deep understanding of the decision-making processes of libraries and universities, and the ability to navigate complex issues with credibility and care. Candidates for the Vice President, Global Library Relations position at the company should have a proven reputation and established networks in the academic library, scholarly communication, or higher education community, with experience across multiple regions. The role requires exceptional ambassadorial presence, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to engage in complex debates. A degree in library science, information science, higher education, or a research-related discipline is a mandatory requirement. The ideal candidate will have a collaborative leadership style, the initiative to work independently, and the resilience to operate in a fast-moving environment. Working knowledge of academic library policies and practices, as well as a practical understanding of research integrity and responsible AI, is essential. The role is a senior global leadership position, with extensive international travel, and the candidate will be expected to report to the Senior Vice President, Global Strategic Networks, and work closely with leaders across various business units.
