Head of Core C++ Low Latency Development

The Company is seeking a Head of Core C++ Low Latency Development, who may also be considered for a CTO role, to lead their core development team. The ideal candidate will have a background in C++ low latency trading and be experienced in algorithmic and high-frequency trading strategies across various financial instruments. The role involves leading a team of 10 to 20 people, providing technical and strategic guidance, and ensuring the development of robust, high-performance trading systems. Responsibilities for the Head of Core C++ Low Latency Development include overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of low-latency trading applications, as well as optimizing the performance of the trading infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical direction of the team, mentoring and training team members, and collaborating with other departments to ensure the seamless integration of trading systems. A strong understanding of market microstructure, as well as experience with network programming and multi-threaded applications, is essential for this role. The role requires a deep understanding of C++ programming, with a focus on low-latency and high-performance techniques. Experience with trading protocols, such as FIX, and a solid knowledge of financial markets and instruments is also necessary. The Head of Core C++ Low Latency Development will be instrumental in the firm's technology strategy, and as such, a visionary approach to technology and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving are highly valued. A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is typically required, along with a proven track record in a similar leadership position within the financial technology sector.
