About the Role
Greater Atlanta, GA Area (Hybrid)
The Company is in search of a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to serve as the organizational backbone, enabling the mission to scale. The COO will be responsible for unifying systems and operations across various programs and content, ensuring that all teams operate with shared systems and a clear understanding of their interconnected work. This role demands a gifted implementer with a strong focus on day-to-day operational health, team culture, and growth. The ideal candidate will lead with deep emotional intelligence, a bias toward implementation, and an authentic passion for the company's mission and values. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, developing and implementing accountability structures, and driving the annual strategic planning cycle. The COO will also be a steady, caring presence, investing in the growth and well-being of the team, and will be involved in talent acquisition, onboarding, and performance evaluations. The successful COO will be an implementer at heart, emotionally intelligent, comfortable in the weeds, data-driven, a developer of people, and mission-aligned. They should have a proven track record in nonprofit operations leadership, experience in building and implementing organizational systems, and a strong financial acumen. While not a strict requirement, some lived experience with disability, hardship, or faith-based community is considered a meaningful differentiator. The role is pivotal in championing the integration of strategic initiatives, partnering with the co-CEOs, and providing objective, data-informed recommendations for mission alignment. The COO will also be involved in financial oversight, working closely with a fractional CFO to ensure strong financial operations and budget adherence.
