Vice President of Legal Greater Birmingham, AL Area

The Company is in search of a Vice President - Legal to take on the role of chief legal advisor and lead legal strategy within the organization. The successful candidate will be a key member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic counsel on a wide range of legal affairs, including operations, governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, commercial transactions, litigation, and growth initiatives. This role is pivotal in influencing enterprise-wide business decisions, leading legal strategy in a complex regulatory environment, and supporting the company's growth and financing activities. The Vice President - Legal will also be responsible for developing practical legal solutions, managing legal risk, and protecting long-term shareholder value. Applicants must have a J.D. from an accredited law school, active bar membership, and at least 15 years of progressive legal experience, with a strong background in regulatory compliance, commercial transactions, labor and employment law, and litigation management. The role requires a leader with strong business judgment, the ability to translate legal issues into practical solutions, and experience in a corporate legal department or law firm. Preferred qualifications include experience as a General Counsel or similar executive legal leader, a background in industrial sectors, and knowledge of relevant regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate will be adept at overseeing compliance, promoting ethical conduct, and managing legal talent to strengthen the legal function within the organization.
