Associate General Counsel Greater Des Moines, IA Area

The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safeguarding the company's legal interests by providing practical legal advice and counsel in collaboration with the General Counsel. This role involves identifying, managing, and mitigating legal risks through contract review, negotiations, and close partnership with various business units. The Associate General Counsel will also oversee group claims and litigation to ensure legal compliance and will be involved in educating business units on relevant laws and regulations. Applicants must have a minimum of 8 years' legal experience, with a preference for those with trial experience and a background in engineering, construction, or general corporate law. A Juris Doctorate degree and a state Bar Exam are required. The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to build relationships across the organization. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, and experience with construction law is beneficial. The role demands a high level of confidentiality, discretion, and the ability to work with AI technology while maintaining a human touch for accuracy and customer service.
