About the Role
Remote (anywhere in Ontario)
The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead its national fundraising strategy and oversee all development activities. The CDO will be instrumental in advancing the Foundation's philanthropic growth, cultivating transformational partnerships, and ensuring the necessary resources to achieve its mission and long-term strategic objectives. This role is pivotal in the Foundation's evolution, as it expands its focus on strategic partnerships, outcomes-based investment, evaluation, and systems-level impact. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished fundraising executive with a proven track record in securing major and transformational gifts, leading high-performing development teams, and building enduring relationships with various stakeholders. Experience in the Canadian charitable sector is essential, and knowledge of child welfare, social services, or systems-change initiatives is an asset. The successful CDO will be a collaborative, values-driven leader with exceptional communication skills, sound judgment, and the credibility to represent the Foundation nationally. They will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team, the Board of Directors, and senior leadership to shape the Foundation's philanthropic strategy, engaging donors as partners in long-term solutions and positioning philanthropy as a catalyst for innovation and lasting change. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on the future of philanthropy for children and youth connected to the child welfare system, inspiring donors to invest in solutions that create lasting outcomes and contribute to the well-being of vulnerable children, youth, and families across the country.
