Chief Legal Officer (CLO)

The Company is seeking a Chief Legal Officer (CLO) to provide executive-level legal leadership, strategy, and compliance oversight. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering strong collaborative relationships to ensure legal alignment with business goals, serving as the principal legal advisor to the CEO, executive leadership, and Board of Directors on U.S. and international legal matters, and overseeing regulatory compliance, particularly in the context of FDA regulations for both BLA and NDA products. The CLO will also be tasked with identifying and mitigating legal risks across the business, including in the areas of litigation, intellectual property protection, and contractual obligations. Applicants for the CLO position at the company should have a JD and a minimum of 12 years' of relevant experience, with a focus on in-house legal leadership in a late-stage biotech or smaller commercial stage biotech. The role requires experience in preparing for NDA/BLA approval, commercial launch in the US, and ideally, ex-US launch experience. A background in research technology collaborations is a plus. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of US law and FDA regulations, high emotional intelligence, exceptional strategic thinking, business acumen, and problem-solving skills. They should be a results-driven leader who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments, and is comfortable with ambiguity, as well as a passionate, transparent, and authentic leader dedicated to improving patient lives.
