Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

The Company is seeking an Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to take on a pivotal role in a rapidly evolving, private equity-backed transportation and freight forwarding business. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall finance function, including budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting. This high-impact position requires the ability to quickly establish credibility, provide strong commercial and operational support to the CEO, senior leadership team, and PE investors, and lead the finance team in driving improvements in profitability and operational performance. The role also involves strengthening financial controls, processes, and reporting disciplines, as well as overseeing cash flow, working capital, and liquidity management. Applicants for the Interim CFO role at the company should have a proven track record as a Finance Director or in a senior finance leadership position, with hands-on experience in freight forwarding, logistics, transport, or a closely related sector. Previous experience in a private equity-backed environment is essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of working capital, cash management, and commercial finance, and be adept at operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are a must, as is the ability to quickly identify and address key financial and operational priorities. A pragmatic, hands-on approach, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery, are also key attributes for this role. A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is preferred.
