Associate General Counsel, Regulatory

The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel with a focus on regulatory matters to join their legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic legal counsel and regulatory guidance across the organization, with a particular emphasis on healthcare regulatory compliance, licensing, accreditation, and reimbursement requirements. This role involves serving as the subject matter expert on a range of federal and state healthcare laws and regulations, including Medicare Conditions of Participation, Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, HIPAA/HITECH, and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse laws. The Associate General Counsel will also lead the company's licensing and Certificate of Need strategy, assist with investigations and audits, and support regulatory risk management and monitoring. Key responsibilities for the Associate General Counsel include leadership and stakeholder engagement, policy development, and educational outreach. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree, be admitted to a state bar, and have at least 6-8 years of legal and professional healthcare experience. They should demonstrate high integrity, strong project management, and process improvement skills, as well as the ability to solve problems multi-dimensionally and lead by example. The role requires a deep understanding of the key stakeholders in the healthcare industry and the ability to mitigate risk pragmatically. Proficiency in business sensitivities and confidentiality, as well as effective communication skills, are essential.
