Vice President, Cloud Platform Engineer

The Company is seeking a VP Platform Engineer to join their team. This senior-level, individual contributor role is focused on being a hands-on technical leader in the design, development, and evolution of core platform services. The successful candidate will work closely with application teams, security stakeholders, and fellow engineers to ensure the reliable and secure delivery of platform capabilities at scale. Key responsibilities include operating with a high degree of independence, applying strong software engineering principles, and clear communication of technical decisions. The role also involves owning the design and implementation of critical platform components, enhancing self-service capabilities, and partnering with security and risk teams to ensure platform security and compliance. Applicants must have a minimum of 7 years' experience in a platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or similar role, with a proven track record of owning shared platforms. Strong software development skills in Python or C# are required, as is deep, hands-on experience with Terraform and operating public cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure). The ideal candidate will have experience in CI/CD pipeline design, leading technical responses during production incidents, and a strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures. Proficiency in project management tools like Jira, and a demonstrated ability to mentor and support engineers, are also essential. Preferred qualifications include experience with internal developer platforms, containerized and serverless environments, and a background in SRE practices.
