Chief Finance & Operations Officer
About the Role
Greater San Francisco, CA Area (Hybrid)
The Company is seeking a Chief Finance & Operations Officer (CFOO) to play a pivotal role in the organization's mission to advance educational equity and support student success. The CFOO will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for connecting financial strategy, operations, technology, data, program execution, and fund development. This executive will guide long-range financial planning, business modeling, and forecasting, and will be the primary liaison to the Board's Finance, Audit, and Investment committees. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years' leadership experience in finance and operations, with a strong preference for those who have supported the growth of a complex nonprofit organization. A deep understanding of nonprofit finance, including fund accounting, grants management, and regulatory compliance, is essential. The successful CFOO will be a strategic leader with a proven track record in operational execution, capable of designing and implementing complex, cross-functional strategies to support scalable growth. They must be adept at modernizing systems and infrastructure and have advanced fluency with CRM and data platforms, particularly Salesforce. Collaborative and mission-centered, the CFOO will lead with cultural competence, a commitment to inclusion, and a focus on fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. Responsibilities also include maintaining the organization's legal and financial compliance, overseeing the finance and operations teams, and serving as a trusted advisor to the Board of Directors. The role demands a leader with executive maturity, strong judgment, and a passion for the mission of the organization.
