About the Role
Greater Albuquerque, NM Area
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to provide visionary leadership and strategic direction in support of its mission to improve the lives of companion animals and the families who care for them. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the organization, ensuring operational excellence across all departments, and serving as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors and staff. This role requires a strong leader with a minimum of 5 years' senior leadership experience, preferably within nonprofit organizations, and a proven track record in financial management, strategic planning, and fundraising. The Executive Director will also be tasked with fostering a culture of compassion, respect, and accountability, and will serve as the organization's key ambassador, building and strengthening community and external relationships. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in a relevant field, with a background in animal welfare, social services, or mission-driven organizations being advantageous. The role demands a candidate with strong team leadership and organizational development skills, as well as the ability to effectively oversee multi-department operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with or reporting to a Board of Directors and a deep commitment to the values and mission of the organization. Responsibilities also include program oversight, staff recruitment and development, and ensuring the organization's programs align with community needs and industry best practices. The Executive Director will be expected to lead the fundraising strategy, cultivate donor relationships, and actively participate in outreach efforts.
