Associate General Counsel
About the Role
Greater Houston, TX Area (Headquarter location)
The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join their team. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Office of General Counsel, providing strategic and operational legal support across the organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring legal compliance and supporting the mission of the organization. The Associate General Counsel will be responsible for a wide range of legal, regulatory, risk management, and compliance matters, with a focus on healthcare and related industries. The ideal candidate should have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school, an active Texas law license, and a minimum of 4 years' of relevant legal experience. Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills are required, and experience in healthcare, particularly in regulated environments, is preferred. The role involves close collaboration with executive leadership and various teams to provide legal guidance on federal and state healthcare laws and regulations, including those related to FDA, HIPAA, and CLIA. The Associate General Counsel will also be involved in corporate governance, contract and transaction management, risk identification and mitigation, and may have the opportunity to work on intellectual property matters. The ideal candidate for this position at the company will be a strategic thinker with strong business acumen, the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical guidance, and excellent communication skills. A collaborative leadership style, high integrity, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment are essential. Experience in M&A, IP transactions, and in-house legal practice is a plus.
