About the Role
Greater London, United Kingdom Area (Hybrid)
The Company is in need of a Head of Commissioning for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to provide strategic leadership in the areas of commissioning, sufficiency planning, and market development for children and young people aged 0-25. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of SEND commissioning and sufficiency strategies, with a focus on using data to forecast future demand and ensure the availability of appropriate local provision. A key aspect of the role is to develop the local SEND market and reduce reliance on independent and out-of-area placements. The Head of Commissioning will also oversee the full commissioning cycle, work closely with various stakeholders, and lead the commissioning elements of the SEND Post Inspection Action Plan. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice, is essential. The role requires experience in strategic partnership working across education, health, and social care, as well as the ability to lead complex change and service transformation.
