Senior Attorney, Land Use & Government Advice

The Company is in search of a Senior Attorney with a focus on Land Use and Government Advice. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 6 years' experience in municipal law, with a strong background in housing, land use, and CEQA. This role involves serving as the principal legal contact for public agency and nonprofit clients, providing expert advice on a range of government and land use matters, and representing clients in public meetings and hearings. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and adept at managing multiple legal matters. Key responsibilities also include supervising and mentoring junior staff, leading business development initiatives, and ensuring clear and efficient communication with clients. Applicants for this position should possess a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and be admitted to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction. A commitment to public interest legal practice and a strong work ethic are essential. The role requires a candidate with excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to engage in active business development. Expertise in housing and land use law, including CEQA, and knowledge of general government law, such as the Brown Act, Public Records Act, and Political Reform Act, are also necessary. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player, enjoy mentoring junior staff, and be comfortable with public speaking.
