Head of Privacy

The Company is seeking a Head of Privacy to take on a pioneering role as the first-ever privacy specialist in Japan. The successful candidate will be tasked with building and leading the privacy and security system from the ground up, including the development and implementation of privacy and security policies, establishment of a personal information protection management system, and ensuring compliance with relevant certifications. This role also involves conducting privacy reviews, impact assessments, and leading incident response, as well as collaborating with regional teams and negotiating with government and regulatory authorities. Applicants must have a strong background in privacy and security compliance, with a focus on large-scale initiatives, and possess in-depth knowledge of Japanese privacy and security regulations, particularly the APPI. The role requires excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and a Bachelor's degree. A minimum of 5 years' practical experience is essential, with a preference for those who have experience in government negotiations, data protection engineering, and e-commerce or cross-border business. Professional certifications in privacy and security are also highly valued.
