Senior Legal Counsel

The Company is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of key project agreements, including land agreements, EPC/BOP contracts, PPAs, and supply agreements. This role involves providing legal support throughout the entire project lifecycle, from development to financial close, construction, and operation. The Senior Legal Counsel will also be tasked with identifying and managing legal risks in line with the overall project strategy, offering commercially-driven legal guidance to senior management, and working closely with cross-functional teams such as engineering, finance, development, and permitting. Additionally, the role includes supporting M&A, financing, and transaction documentation, as well as managing external counsel and ensuring corporate governance for Japanese entities. Applicants for the Senior Legal Counsel position at the company should hold a law degree from a recognized Japanese institution, with bar admission being a plus. A minimum of 8 years' of experience, preferably in renewable energy or infrastructure, is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in at least two of the following areas: real estate/land, construction/infrastructure, energy/project finance, or corporate/commercial law. The role demands a commercially minded individual who is autonomous and adept at managing multiple priorities. Fluency in Japanese is essential, with advanced proficiency in English. The Senior Legal Counsel will be expected to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and contribute to the growth and success of the company's legal and business operations.
