Interim Chief Information Officer (CIO), CMMC Compliance

The Company is in need of a part-time Chief Information Officer (CIO) with a strong background in CMMC compliance, particularly at Level 2. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing executive leadership and operational oversight of the organization's CMMC compliance posture, ensuring that all cybersecurity controls, governance processes, technical implementations, and risk management activities are in line with the CMMC requirements. This role demands a senior technology executive with deep experience in NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, Microsoft GCC High, federal government contracting, and cybersecurity governance. The CIO will also be the executive owner of the CMMC compliance program, participating in strategic technology guidance, and supporting the organization in all CMMC-related activities. Applicants for the CIO position at the company must have a minimum of 10 years' progressive IT leadership experience, with a proven track record in a CIO, CISO, or equivalent executive role. Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 GCC High and related security and management tools is essential. The ideal candidate will have successfully supported organizations through CMMC certification and have experience with DoD cybersecurity assessments. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CGRC, CCSP, or CMMC-related certifications are preferred. The role requires a professional who can lead cybersecurity risk assessments, manage compliance documentation, and engage with external stakeholders as necessary. The CIO will be expected to maintain executive oversight of the CMMC compliance program, conduct monthly compliance governance reviews, and provide quarterly executive risk assessments.
