Interim Vice President of Accounting

The Company is in need of an Interim Vice President of Accounting to provide both strategic and operational leadership during a significant period of organizational transformation. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of financial functions, including accounting, financial reporting, compliance, audit, and treasury. This executive will work closely with the CFO and senior leadership to ensure financial integrity, enhance internal controls, and optimize reporting processes. Key responsibilities for the role include executive financial leadership, overseeing financial close management, leading compliance and audit activities, and driving process improvements within the accounting and finance functions. Applicants for the Interim Vice President of Accounting position at the company must have a CPA certification, a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and at least 15 years' of progressive accounting and finance experience. A minimum of 5 years' in public accounting and significant leadership experience in complex financial operations are also required. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, nonprofit accounting, and financial reporting, as well as experience with grants, donor-restricted funding, and nonprofit compliance requirements. Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills are essential, and experience with major ERP platforms is a plus. The role demands a hands-on leader with a proven track record in driving process improvements, mentoring teams, and leading finance transformation initiatives.
