About the Role
Remote (anywhere in Netherlands)
The Company is seeking two new members for its Supervisory Board, one with a focus on society and the public, and the other with a profile in entrepreneurship in the visual arts. The ideal candidates will be experienced supervisors with a strong sense of social commitment, strategic insight, and the ability to contribute to the governance and societal positioning of the organization. The role involves overseeing the Executive Board, acting as a critical sparring partner for the Managing Director, and ensuring the Fund's activities align with its mission of supporting the visual arts and heritage sector. The candidates should be rooted in society, with a network that extends beyond the traditional art world, and should bring a perspective that includes a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and the ability to engage in dialogue on these issues at a strategic level. Candidates for the Society and Public profile should have a strong connection to the community, with authority and a network that includes ties to the Caribbean Netherlands and other countries of the Kingdom. They must be a unifying force between various stakeholders and be able to maintain the trust of employees. The General profile characteristics for both positions include a keen eye for administrative relations, sensitivity to the political and social context of the arts, and the ability to contribute expertise from an independent and constructive stance. Affinity with a government or independent administrative body is an advantage, and candidates should be sufficiently available to fulfill the role, which requires an average of 50 hours per year. The Supervisory Board operates independently and with integrity, and former members of the Executive Board or other policy-making officials of the Fund are not eligible to serve.
