Vice President, BREC Finance
About the Role
Remote (anywhere in New Jersey)
The Company is seeking a Vice President for its Private Real Estate Credit and Income Fund (BREC) Finance. The successful candidate will be a senior leader in the accounting, finance, and reporting activities of BREC, which is a private business development company and '40 Act fund. This role is pivotal in overseeing core financial reporting and close processes, ensuring the accuracy and conformity of deliverables with accounting standards and BREC policies, and communicating financial results to senior business stakeholders. The Vice President will also be responsible for leading a team, developing junior professionals, and driving process improvements to enhance the quality and timeliness of reporting. Applicants for the Vice President position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or finance, with an active CPA license strongly preferred. A minimum of 10 years' of relevant work experience, particularly in financial services, business development companies, investment management, lending, or real estate, is required. The role demands a candidate with a strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, experience in SEC registrant or regulated investment vehicle environments, and a proven track record in managing financial operations, audits, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and quantitative skills, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and a keen interest in process automation and systems improvement. Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex matters clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders are essential.
