AWS Field Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Greater Baltimore, MD Area

The Company is seeking a Field Chief Technology Officer to lead technical pre-sales and support delivery across data platform and AI engagements. Responsibilities include partnering with sales leaders on proposals, workshops, and demonstrations; leading technical discovery and architecture sessions; and collaborating with field technical teams to shape solutions and co-selling efforts. The role also guides smooth transitions from pre-sales to delivery, establishes architecture best practices, and supports a cross-regional technical community. The CTO will advise client executives, translate technical capabilities into business value, and contribute to industry thought leadership. Candidates should have 15+ years of experience in data or platform architecture, including at least five years in cloud architecture, solution engineering, or technical pre-sales with deep cloud-platform expertise. Strong knowledge of AI, core data and AI services, and real-time and batch architectures is required, along with experience presenting enterprise solutions and working closely with sales teams. Applicants should bring excellent communication skills, relevant cloud certifications, and experience with data engineering, generative AI, or agentic AI workloads. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
