Head of Year

The Company is seeking a Head of Year to join their dynamic educational team. This pivotal middle-leadership role is dedicated to the holistic development of an assigned year group, with a strong focus on high attendance, exemplary behavior, and the overall well-being of every pupil. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a positive cohort culture, monitoring attendance, and leading a team of form tutors. Key skills required include pastoral leadership, conflict resolution, data literacy, exceptional communication, resilience, and strategic planning. The Head of Year will also be involved in intervention planning, assembly delivery, safeguarding, and will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to meet school-wide targets. Applicants for the Head of Year position at the company should hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification, have an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one, and demonstrate success in managing complex behavior in a secondary setting. The role demands a candidate with a passion for removing barriers to learning, the ability to maintain a calm and authoritative presence, and the resilience to turn challenging situations into breakthroughs. The ideal candidate will be adept at using data to trigger early interventions, and be committed to the values-based, leadership-specialism approach of the school, which includes a focus on community service, social action, and interfaith alliances.
