General Counsel, Residential Americas Greater Charlotte, NC Area

The Company is seeking a General Counsel to serve as the lead legal partner for its residential business, advising on strategic and day-to-day matters. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements; advising on regulatory, product, marketing, warranty, data, and credit matters; and identifying and mitigating legal and business risks. The role will support joint ventures, claims, customer issues, recalls, and litigation, while partnering with business leaders to develop plans for new products and services. The General Counsel will also establish legal processes and standards, manage legal priorities and budgets, and lead and develop a small legal team. Candidates must hold a J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and be in good standing with a state bar. At least 15 years of attorney experience, including 10 or more years as in-house counsel, is required, along with a strong corporate transactional background and experience negotiating complex commercial agreements. The role calls for excellent legal judgment, analytical, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, as well as business acumen and the ability to assess risk, influence stakeholders, and manage competing priorities. Experience with commercial litigation and managing outside counsel is an advantage.
