Associate Vice President, Financial Services

The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Financial Services to serve as a senior financial executive and the lead leader for accounting and financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across a broad portfolio of financial functions, including budget, general accounting, grants and contracts, procurement, accounts payable, treasury and investment management, student account services, tax compliance, and inventory control. Key leadership responsibilities for the AVP include leading the financial services organization, developing people and building organizational capacity, advancing financial systems, driving process improvement, and ensuring excellence in accounting and financial reporting. The role also involves leading audit, compliance, and internal controls, providing technical accounting leadership, and overseeing budget and financial planning. Applicants for the AVP position must have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, an active CPA license, and at least 10 years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial accounting and reporting, GAAP, internal controls, and external audit management, as well as experience in leading significant process improvement and modernization within a complex financial environment. Strong executive communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries are essential. A Master's degree, senior financial leadership experience in a complex public-sector environment, and experience with financial systems and tools are preferred. The role requires a trusted financial leader who values transparency, accountability, collaboration, and responsible stewardship of resources.
