Dean of the Graduate College & Vice Provost for Graduate Studies

The Company is seeking a Dean of the Graduate College and Vice Provost for Graduate Studies to lead and advance the institution's graduate education. The successful candidate will be a distinguished scholar, eligible for tenure at the rank of full professor, with a compelling vision for graduate education at an urban public research university. This role is pivotal in the University's strategic direction, with a focus on academic excellence, urban impact, and innovation. The Dean/Vice Provost will be responsible for the academic vision, graduate student success, faculty engagement, financial resources, strategic planning, and external partnerships. They must be an effective advocate for graduate education, a strong partner across the University, and an engaged representative to various external constituencies. Key responsibilities for the Dean/Vice Provost include strengthening graduate student recruitment, success, and professional development, as well as supporting faculty excellence and inclusive scholarly environments. The ideal candidate will have a track record of leading through influence, collaboration, and sound strategic judgment, and will be expected to generate new resources and revenue for the Graduate College. They should have experience in budgetary and financial management, be adept at building partnerships, and have a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in higher education. The role requires a leader with outstanding interpersonal, communication, and management skills, who is committed to the principles of academic assessment and can lead with integrity and decisive execution.
