The Company is in search of an in-house General Counsel to serve as its chief legal officer and a trusted advisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the legal affairs of the company, including its construction and real estate divisions. This senior leadership role requires a hands-on lawyer who is adept at working with executives, project teams, and company owners, and can handle a wide range of legal matters from day-to-day contract questions to high-stakes transactions and disputes. The General Counsel will be the sole in-house lawyer, personally involved in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing various contracts, managing risks, resolving claims, and handling employment matters. Additionally, the role involves advising management and being a business partner to various company functions to ensure the enterprise is protected and operates within sound legal parameters. The ideal candidate for the General Counsel position at the company should have a strong background in construction and real estate law, with experience in the legal aspects of large-scale infrastructure projects. The role demands a professional who is not only a legal expert but also a strategic thinker, capable of aligning legal strategies with the company's business objectives. The General Counsel will also be expected to have experience in selecting, managing, and budgeting for outside counsel, and must be prepared to engage external legal resources as needed. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and a valid license to practice law are required, and a minimum of 10 years of legal experience, with a focus on construction and real estate, is preferred.
