Vice President, Software Engineering

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Software Engineering to lead a large engineering organization and modernize a digital platform across web, mobile, APIs, and cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities include setting engineering standards, rebuilding legacy systems, improving release speed and reliability, and ensuring performance during major traffic surges. The role partners closely with product leaders to shape roadmaps and oversees architecture, quality, security, resilience, and the use of AI and data in both product development and engineering workflows. It also leads the development of content, streaming, and personalization capabilities while building and retaining strong engineering teams. Candidates should have at least 12 years of software engineering experience, including six or more years leading engineers and experience managing other leaders. Required expertise includes cloud architecture, distributed systems, web and native mobile delivery, performance engineering, quality practices, and modern development technologies such as React, Node.js, TypeScript, or comparable tools. Applicants should have experience modernizing or scaling a platform, managing systems with sharp traffic peaks, partnering with product teams early in design, and applying AI and data effectively. Experience with live events, streaming, real-time data, content platforms, or multi-tenant software is an advantage.
