Fractional Head of Engineering (Piping – Process)

The Company is seeking a Head of Engineering (Piping – Process) to lead the piping engineering team and oversee contractor delivery across the full project lifecycle. Responsibilities include directing piping design, equipment and materials definition, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning, while ensuring technical deliverables meet project requirements. The role also covers evaluating EPC tenders, managing scope, schedules, contracts, and procurement support, and coordinating with other engineering disciplines and operational stakeholders. The successful candidate will resolve field technical queries, review and approve material requisitions and piping stress calculations, support site activities, and oversee quality, compliance, and lessons learned. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and have at least 10 years of engineering experience, including six years in oil and gas and two years in a supervisory or contractor-oversight role. They should bring senior-level piping engineering experience and broad knowledge of engineering execution, design standards, codes, safety criteria, and onshore LNG facilities. Experience with cryogenic piping systems and project delivery from start-up through handover is required. Strong technical, organizational, planning, coordination, communication, and team-working skills are essential, along with excellent spoken and written English and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Navisworks.
