Executive Director of Global Education Greater Durham, NC Area

The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Global Education to provide strategic, operational, financial, and organizational leadership for its global and domestic study-away programs. The role involves developing innovative programs and partnerships, overseeing program design and evaluation, and ensuring alignment with academic goals and student learning outcomes. The Executive Director will lead a geographically distributed team, manage budgets and financial performance, and oversee compliance, risk assessment, emergency preparedness, and crisis response. The position also builds relationships with faculty, students, institutional partners, and senior leadership while advancing student access, belonging, and intercultural learning. Candidates must hold an earned doctorate (Ph.D., J.D., or Ed.D.) and have at least eight years of international education experience, including five years in progressively responsible leadership roles. Required experience includes leading international programs, managing personnel and finances, developing study-away programs, negotiating institutional agreements, and addressing legal, compliance, safety, and risk considerations. Strong team leadership, change management, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills are essential. Preferred qualifications include expertise in undergraduate global education, complex budgets, assessment and data tools, and expanding opportunities in emerging or underrepresented regions.
