Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Greater Hastings, New Zealand Area

The Company is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to shape its technology and engineering direction and contribute to executive-level decisions. The role includes leading, coaching, and developing engineering leaders; partnering with Product to align customer needs, commercial priorities, and technology investment; and overseeing the delivery of software, platforms, infrastructure, and deployed technology. The CTO will strengthen engineering capability and delivery practices while ensuring technology is scalable, reliable, and secure. Responsibilities also include oversight of quality, cybersecurity, data protection, technology risk, and incident management, alongside providing clear technical and commercial advice to stakeholders. Candidates should have executive-level experience leading a technology or engineering function and managing experienced engineering leaders and teams. Strong technical credibility, commercial awareness, and the ability to guide teams, set direction, and balance engineering quality with business priorities are essential. Experience in a product-led technology or SaaS environment is important; familiarity with field-deployed hardware, digital displays, computer vision, or security and compliance frameworks is an advantage. The role also calls for strong communication, sound judgment, and the ability to build accountable teams and work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
